Perry, Samuel of Palmerstown, Albany Co.

Memorial New Carlisle, 1788. He was driven from his property and joined Burgoyne's Army at Ticonderoga on 16 July 1777. After the Saratoga Convention he went to Canada and was appointed Lieut. in Col. Jessup's Corps. Now at an advanced age, he is unable to provide for the needs of his large family.

Claim for 111 acres and a house; provisions, etc. supplied to loyalists.

Evidences: List of loyalists enlisted by him, taken to Saratoga, and mustered at McClellan's Mills on 24 August 1777 by Capt. Campbell of the 29th Regt. Deposition 16 March 1786 New Carlisle by Isaac Man Jr. that he and his brother Thomas Man hid for several days in the neighbourhood of the claimant and were given provisions by him before they joined the Army at Ticonderoga. Deposition of the same date and place by Loes Naughten, relict of Thomas Loveless, late of Palmerstown, that she resided near the claimant who lived in a good log house and kept a decent table.
